By JOHN LEHNDORFF
As one of the nation’s few Americana music and food critics, my two specialties rarely coincide. Researching a story I’ll be writing about Mumford & Sons when they play in Telluride in June, I discovered a very entertaining food travel blog by Mumford keyboardist Ben Lovett (no relation to Lyle):
HAPPY SPRING EATING
The Boulder County Farmers Market opens for the season on April 6. http://www.boulderfarmers.org/
The best fudge I’ve tasted in years, the chocolate goat milk fudge from the Ugly Goat Milk Co. in Parker, is now available at Masterpiece Deli in Denver. One taste and you’re doomed. Read more about this fabulous farm at: http://theauroramagazine.com/colorado-table/back-to-the-farm/
LOOKING BACK AT FRASCA
The wine guys at Boulder’s Frasca Food & Wine are finalists in the 2013 James Beard Awards in the Outstanding Wine Program category. Way back when Frasca was young and starting to make it’s mark I stopped by to review it for the Rocky Mountain News:
“One of the “best” reasons for visiting Frasca is to talk to master sommelier Bobby Stuckey about wine. His boyish enthusiasm for sharing his deep knowledge of wine makes sipping here a joy. Tell him what you like and let him find an unforgettable treat for you.”
