John Lehndorff has been involved with food one way or another since he baked his first Prince lasagna and worked for a caterer in central Massachusetts putting on clambakes for up to 1,000 people. After graduating in English with honors from McGill University in Montreal, he moved to Boulder where he worked in the restaurant industry, taught cooking classes, hosted The Generic Gourmet Show - a weekly food radio program, and freelanced for numerous publications.
For 15 years, he was an award-winning food editor, writer and nationally syndicated Nibbles food columnist for the Daily Camera, followed by eight years as the dining critic and columnist of the Rocky Mountain News. He was also the executive director of the American Pie Council, spokeperson for National Pie Day, chief judge for the National Pie Championships, author of Denver Dines (a restaurant guide book), and judge for the James Beard Foundation journalism awards.

Lehndorff has earned awards for food column and feature writing and food section editing from Association of Food Journalists, Society of Professional Journalists, and Newspaper Food Writers and Editors Association
Since the Rocky Mountain News was closed in 2009, he has published the first-of-its-kind 2011 American Salumi Calendar, The Pie Calendar 2010, created a scale for tasting commercial kombuchas, and is currently the chief researcher for Eat In Eat Out, a new magazine-style business-to-business food and dining trends white paper from the American Forecaster.
His Nibbles blog reports on national and global food trends. He’s a member of the advisory Culinary Council for the Sterling Rice Group and a judge for the Colorado Wine Board’s Colorado Wine Industry Restaurant Recognition Awards. He is a contributing writer for Yellow Scene Magazine, Edible Front Range Magazine, the Daily Camera and the Bloomsbury Review.
